Situated at the southern edge of the North York Moors National Park is the the market town of Helmsley. The town is home to a lovely market square encompassed by hotels, shops and residential houses. The town and surrounding area has a rich history, playing host to a12th century castle, English Heritage’s Rievaulx Abbey and Castle Howard. The area is also a walker's haven with the Cleveland Way starting in the town, and you can also explore the surrounding moors with their hidden dales and quaint villages nestled in.
