Snaptrip says

Inglenook Cottage in Bourton-on-the-Water is praised for its prime location, cosy atmosphere, and comfortable beds. Guests appreciate the characterful charm, the log burner, and the proximity to local amenities. While some maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is seen as delightful, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Most guests found the cottage to be clean and well-presented upon arrival, with specific compliments to the cleaning staff. However, a few reviews mentioned areas where cleanliness could be improved, such as sticky surfaces and a need for deeper cleaning in some spots.

The cottage's location is highly praised for being in the heart of the village with easy access to shops, pubs, and restaurants. The picturesque setting and convenience are consistently highlighted as major positives.

Guests frequently mention the comfortable beds and the cosy feel of the cottage, particularly the log burner. Some reviews suggest that the lounge furniture could be updated for added comfort.

The cottage is generally seen as well-equipped, with a special mention of the welcome basket during the Christmas season. However, there are comments about the need for maintenance and updates on some of the furniture and kitchen equipment.

While guests have mentioned a welcome basket and the cottage being decorated for Christmas, there is not enough consistent information across the reviews to confirm the regularity of such gestures. Therefore, while these touches are appreciated, they cannot be guaranteed for future guests.

The picturesque high street nestles alongside the River Windrush over which several low stone bridges span, which is why Bourton-on-the-Water is known as the Venice in the Cotswolds. Tradition states that an annual football match is played in the summer, in the River Windrush with the banks lined with spectators, with the aim to score as many goals as possible and get as wet as possible! The village has an eclectic range of visitor attractions, including The Model Village, Cotswold Motor Museum, Birdland Park and Gardens as well as a Dragonfly Maze, monthly farmers’ market as well as many tea rooms, an artisan bakery, antiques and craft markets, traditional sweet shop, cycle hire and its very own perfumery. This ancient market town has played host to many fairs since the 12th century and today holds a biannual Gypsy Horse Fair, craft fairs and monthly farmers' market. Cleanliness was an issue. Floors, doors and furniture all need to be cleaned thoroughly. The smoke alarm in the main bedroom does not work. Other people’s toiletries left in the shower and a bar of soap from goodness knows when in the shower caddy. Such a shame as this house has the potential to be a really lovely place to stay.

The cottage is perfectly located with everything walking distance. It is cosy and a great place to relax. We particularly enjoyed the log fire to keep us warm during the cold January nights.
