Snaptrip says

South Hill Farmhouse is a well-received holiday rental, praised for its spaciousness, well-equipped kitchens, and suitability for large groups. The garden and games room are highlights, providing entertainment for all ages. The property's charm and character contribute to a cosy and enjoyable stay, with a location that, while busy, offers convenient access to local attractions.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Most guests found the property clean and well-maintained, though a few mentioned issues with insects and cobwebs. The overall impression is of a clean environment, with one review highlighting it as 'spotless'.

The property's proximity to Stow-on-the-Wold is appreciated, but several reviews mention the busy Fosse Way road as a concern for safety and noise. The location is generally liked for its walks and town access, despite the road crossing.

Guests consistently report a high level of comfort, with numerous mentions of cosy living spaces, comfortable beds, and a warm house. The property caters well to different age groups, enhancing the comfort of the stay.

The farmhouse is equipped with ample amenities for large groups, including two kitchens and a games room. Some minor maintenance issues were reported, such as a shower repair and a leak, but overall the facilities meet guests' needs effectively.

While some guests appreciated the welcome pack, there is insufficient information to determine a consistent level of thoughtfulness across all stays. As such, the score is set to null, and guests should note that gifts are not guaranteed.

About this property

South Hill Farmhouse (22) is an enormous Grade Two Listed holiday home capable of accommodating up to 22 people in spacious surroundings. Once a local farmhouse, the property has been converted to provide 11 bedrooms and a wealth of bathrooms making it perfect for large family or group gatherings looking to enjoy the Cotswolds and Stow on the Wold. The owners have ensured that all elements for a large party have been considered: a large Dining Room , vast Living Room and a separate games room make it perfect for a relaxing and enjoyable break. The house is located on the Fosse Way, (this is the infamous main road between Cirencester and Stow)approx 5 mins from the heart of the heart of the market town of Stow on the Wold. The quality touches are evident throughout - Farrow and Ball colours, Robert Welch cutlery and Denby crockery all add to the appeal of this large holiday home. An excellent choice for a memorable get-together. (N.B. Details of extra activities available at the farmhouse at bottom of description.)

The highest town in the Cotswolds, Stow-on-the-Wold, originally an Iron Age Fort, epitomises olde worlde England. This ancient market town has played host to many fairs since the 12th century and today holds a biannual Gypsy Horse Fair, craft fairs and monthly Farmers' market. The vast market square boasts an ancient cross at one end and the village stocks at the other, surrounded by an elegant array of Cotswold stone townhouses, antique shops, tea rooms, traditional pubs, award-winning restaurants and its very own cricket museum.

The games room hosted table tennis and table football leagues very successfully as well. Although it's directly off a very busy, fast main road, the double glazing meant that noise wasn't really a problem for us. The outside space is great too. In terms of cooking it's very well equipped and we had no problem feeding everyone. There's lots of fridge/freezer space too and the sceond kitchen made food prep easy without getting in each other's way.. The welcome pack was by far the best we've ever had and all local produce. Would highly recommend, we certainly intend to return!!

Excellent location near to Stow. Ability to reach the footpath behind the property without going on the road would be an improvement. Well thought out property with 2 kitchens, lots of fridge space etc made it a great choice.

The large lounge gave us plenty of space to enjoy relaxing evenings and it was lovely to have our meals all together in one dining room. The games room was a real hit. I would just say that families need to be aware that you have to cross a busy main road if you want to walk into Stow on the Wold as the only footpath is on the other side. However, the quality of the property makes that well worth putting up with.
