Elm Croft is a well-regarded cottage in Hollins, Derbyshire, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and prime location for local attractions and walks. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like honey and flapjacks, and the property serves as a cosy base for exploring the surrounding countryside. While some minor concerns about garden maintenance and seating comfort were noted, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many guests planning return visits.
Guests consistently describe the cottage as 'spotlessly clean', 'lovely and clean', and 'very clean throughout', indicating a high standard of cleanliness that contributes significantly to their positive experience.
The location is frequently praised for being a great base for visiting local attractions, with easy access to walks and pubs. The proximity to Linacre reservoirs and other scenic spots is a highlight for many guests.
The cottage is generally considered comfortable, with mentions of a 'comfy bed' and 'toasty' underfloor heating. However, a few guests noted a preference for a sofa over the provided chairs, slightly affecting the comfort score.
Facilities are well-regarded, with the cottage being described as 'well equipped' and having 'everything needed'. There are some remarks about garden maintenance and the lack of a gate, which have been addressed by the owner, indicating responsiveness to maintenance issues.
Many guests mention and appreciate the thoughtful gestures of honey and flapjacks provided upon arrival. While these gifts are warmly received, it's important to note that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Mrs Manson
Exceptionally clean and well equipped. However the small, private garden was overgrown and lack a gate to prevent access to a small but fast road. Message from the Owner: Thank you for your feedback. The small garden area has now been enclosed for the benefit if guests, particularly those with pets.

Mr Tom Buckley
Enjoyed our stay very much. Very well equipped comfy bed but would have preffered a small settee to the chairs provided.
