! I was looking for a special weekend away for my boyfriendâs birthday present and I came across Herbie hut at Shepard's lodges. It had everything we were looking for. It has a lovely log fire, heated hot tub so you can watch the stars at night but also feel like youâre getting the proper camping experience. Stunning countryside views, fantastic pubs, restaurants and attractions to see near by, hut itself is beautiful and cozy and comes with everything you need for a lovely stay. Chris the owner and his partner Helen were so welcoming and helped us out where we needed, they were such nice hosts. We both instantly felt so at home and relaxed and it just made our weekend even better. Chris and Helen also has some lovely pets that are on the land and I loved it as Iâm a huge animal person. Itâs just an all round lovely atmosphere. We loved every second and we are definitely coming back for another relaxing getaway. It was absolutely perfect thank you Chris and Helen. Hot tub was great once it got up to temp which for us took a lot longer then the 2 - 2.5 hrs stated in the information book. Generally the hut was a lovely stay and would recommend to others. Thanks

Chris was so welcoming and helpful with setting the hot tub going for us and had a lovely chat with him. Would recommend to anyone for a perfect retreat location. 10/10!
