Snaptrip says

Acorn Cottage in Windermere is highly praised for its stunning views, privacy, and peaceful surroundings. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, the high standard of finish, and the relaxing hot tub. The property is ideal for couples seeking a tranquil escape, with friendly staff and a convenient location close to local amenities and walks.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage receives high marks for cleanliness, with multiple reviews noting it as 'spotless' and 'super clean'. Only one mention of dust and cobwebs slightly detracts from an otherwise excellent impression.

The location is celebrated for its beautiful views and proximity to Bowness, with a peaceful setting that's still accessible to shops and pubs. Some concerns about the walk into town and road safety slightly affect the score.

Comfort is well-regarded, with mentions of a comfortable bed and cosy feel. However, the open-plan layout, particularly around the toilet area, and some noise issues have been noted as potential discomforts for some guests.

Facilities are generally praised, especially the hot tub and well-equipped kitchen. However, there are several mentions of minor issues such as unreliable Wi-Fi, lack of coat hooks, and basic furniture which suggest room for improvement.

While there are positive comments about the staff and welcome gifts, there is not enough consistent detail across the reviews to accurately score thoughtfulness. It's worth noting that gifts, when provided, add a special touch to the welcome experience.

Just think should be advertised that bathroom has no door it’s all open plan . The kitchen fan very loud . Option for seperately lights would be helpful . Otherwise lovely place .

No cupboard staples such as oil, sauces etc. The cottage wasn't quite clean and a little tired in places. Velux blinds a bit awkward to open and close. Views from the terrace are stunning.

20 minutes walk out of the hustle and bustle of Bowness, but close enough to still enjoy it (although we always got a taxi home!) We would definitely consider going back to Acorn and the wider Oaks Estate. The only small things that we would suggest improvements on would be the kitchen lighting. When switched on, the extractor fan comes on too, which is great, but is quite loud. Some additional under cupboard lighting may benefit from having a small amount of light in the kitchen without the need for the extractor fan. And the roof light above the shower - we were unable to open this or lower the blind on all attempts over the break. It might be that we were trying to do it on the wrong angle with the pole, or whether this needs some attention.
