About this property

Petts Cottage is a traditional Norfolk hideaway, located just a minute’s walk from the centre of Norfolk’s loveliest village, Burnham Market and within easy reach of all the wonderful pubs and restaurants that make this village so special.

Petts Cottage is a traditional two-up, two-down small terraced cottage, located just a minute’s walk from the centre of Norfolk’s loveliest village, Burnham Market. In easy reach of all the shops, pubs and restaurants that make this village so special, and you are well placed for exploring the local area.

This mid-terrace cottage with two bedrooms, is a good base for a short break or longer stay. Owned by the same family for many years, it is traditionally furnished with local finds and is suitable for a couple or small family looking for a good location.

Pop to the bakers’ or one of the café’s or deli to buy croissants and coffee for breakfast before enjoying at the cottage and planning your day. On lazy summer days you can enjoy the fully-enclosed courtyard garden, ideal for a spot of sunbathing or dining alfresco.

On arrival, park up outside and if you fancy, explore the coast by bus, foot or cycle (the latter can be hired locally in the village). Or enjoy all the walking and history on your doorstep. A walk to Burnham Thorpe where Admiral Lord Nelson was born is well worth doing (sneaking in a local ale or lunch at the famous Lord Nelson in the village), or walk eastwards to Burnham Overy Staithe where you will discover a picturesque little harbour, where you can enjoy a spot of crabbing and walk out to a stunning and secluded beach, or why not catch the ferry (in summer) to the remote and beguiling Scolt Head Island.

Additional Information:

The cottage stairs are quite steep and there is a handrail on one side only.

Up to one well-behaved dog welcome (small additional charge).

Please note, there is no starter pack (which includes tea, coffee, sugar and milk) or welcome hamper provided at this property.

What we would have put in the visitor's book is - the cottage was well appointed, clean, comfortable, the open plan layout downstairs works very well and the outdoor space at the rear was nice and private, a good place for breakfasts and for a "sundowner". As for Burnham Market itself, it's a lovely village with quite a few thriving independent shops, we'd recommend Gurney's fishmongers, the Humble Pie delicatessen and Arthur Howell's butchers, we had a lovely meal at the Hoste Arms. A walk around "The Burnhams" straight from the doorstep is a particular delight at any time of the day - approx 4 or 5 miles depending on what route you take. Burnham Market is a great base for exploring the North Norfolk coast with lots of places in easy reach. Holkham Hall, Park & Walled Garden, Sandringham, Brancaster, Wells, Blakeney and Sheringham Park are all recommended. Thanks for a lovely stay in North Norfolk.

Unfortunately my wife was take seriously Ill whilst we were at Pete Cottage and was rushed to hospital. The concern, and support from Norfolk Holidays was second to none and were there to support us through a very difficult time. My thanks to them.

Just returned from a 4 night stay in Petts Cottage. Excellent location in the heart of Burnham Market. Beautiful beaches and villages around to explore. The cottage is basic but had everything we needed for a short break.
