Avocet Lodge is consistently praised for its immaculate condition, comfortable and well-equipped interiors, and stunning views. The lodge's warmth and the thoughtful touches, such as a welcome pack, contribute to a highly recommended, relaxing holiday experience.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Reviewers unanimously commend the lodge for its spotless presentation and cleanliness, often using terms like 'immaculate' and 'spotlessly clean' to describe their experience.

The lodge's location is frequently highlighted for its stunning rural views, quiet setting, and convenience to the coast and nature reserves, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and outdoor activities.

Guests describe the lodge as comfortable, warm, and cosy, providing a welcoming atmosphere to return to after a day of activities, even during the colder months.

The facilities are highly rated, with mentions of modern, comfortable furnishings and excellent WiFi. However, one suggestion for a luxury addition of a hot tub indicates room for improvement.

The thoughtful gestures, such as a welcome pack with prosecco and cookies, are well-received by guests, although it is noted that such gifts are a delightful surprise and not a guaranteed amenity.

About this property

A fabulous contemporary cedar lodge in Ingoldisthorpe, with panoramic countryside and coastal views. The ultimate romantic bolthole for two or a peaceful escape for one. Over the winter months wonder at the sight and haunting sound of skeins of pink footed geese as they fly overhead and watch spellbinding seabird murmurations - all from the comfort of this superb lodge.

Constructed in 2020 and being one of just two detached Brickley Wood Lodges (neighbouring Ingol Lodge sleeps four) set high on the hill above the small village of Ingoldisthorpe. With beautiful boutique-style interiors and high end fixtures and fittings, you really will want for nothing - every little detail has been thought of to ensure you have the finest holiday. Just shake off your shoes, turn on the coffee machine, take a seat, relax and unwind in peaceful surroundings and simply take in the landscape above and below. The open-plan living area is spacious and light-filled with a smart fitted kitchen at the back of the room that overlooks the dining and sitting areas where there's a widescreen television to entertain, should you ever get tired of the endless view. From here double french doors lead out to an outdoor deck - this part of the North Norfolk coast unusually faces West and is the ideal place to watch as the sun sets on the Wash in its glorious technicolour. And, oh my goodness, the bedroom, dressing room and en-suite - sumptuous is the word, rather decadent, and actually very seductive too. dream on!

Ingoldisthorpe is a charming little village, just inland from the coast, and is perfect for immersing yourself in nature, birdwatching or biking along the national cycle route. Some of Norfolk's finest beaches, country houses, rural and coastal walks, and fine dining are all on the doorstep. The Coasthopper bus route runs through the village, and traverses the beautiful coast road.

Unfortunately our stay was cut short due to illness but Avocet Lodge was one of the best lodges that we have ever stopped in, everything was so clean and immaculate all the accessories were top quality if I said the only thing missing was a pair of kitchen scissors that tells you everything. The views and seating outside were amazing watching the wildlife was something special. I think we will return.

A wonderful place to unwind. We stayed during a chilly January week and the lodge was so cosy and welcoming. Has everything you might need, stunning views and ultimate comfort, you won’t want to leave. We hope to return again soon.

A beautiful lodge, quiet, restful and a pleasant view. Will be retunring in September.
