Stewards Cottage is praised for its excellent facilities, warmth, and prime location near Bamburgh & Seahouses. It serves as a great base for exploring Northumberland in a quiet setting. Some guests noted areas for improvement, including the level of cleanliness and the need for better kitchen utensils.
Guests have expressed concerns about cleanliness, mentioning dusty cobwebs and marks around the property, which suggests that the cleaning standards may not meet everyone's expectations.
The location is highly regarded, being close to Bamburgh & Seahouses and offering a good base for exploring the area. However, one review mentioned the outdoor space being too public, which slightly affects the score.
The property is described as comfortable, particularly noting a warm atmosphere and a good shower. However, the presence of internal steps not mentioned in the property details affected the comfort level for guests with mobility issues.
Facilities are generally well-received, with special mentions of the kitchen and shower. However, some guests reported non-working lights, random kitchen utensils, and intermittent internet access, indicating room for maintenance improvements.
There is a mention of an 'arrival pack' which suggests some level of thoughtfulness, but as there is no consistent reference to gifts or additional thoughtful touches, and the review indicates an issue with the arrival pack, it is not possible to accurately score this category.
Steward's Cottage is a classy cottage with a chic, modern and contemporary feel. Set in a picturesque rural location yet very accessible in the heart of Northumberland.
Stewards Cottage is one of the Bamburgh First Holiday Cottages in the hamlet of Adderstone, near the village of Lucker. It is a charming stone cottage providing accommodation for up to 6 guests. It has open planned living space and spacious bedrooms.
Northumberland is steeped in history with many imposing castles to explore including Alnwick Castle made famous by the Harry Potter movies and the striking Bamburgh Castle built high on a rocky outcrop. The quiet lanes are perfect for cyclists and walkers to soak up the stunning landscapes and perhaps catch a glimpse of the remarkable array of wildlife including red squirrels, roe deer, wild goats, otters and black grouse.
Aidan Cottage is a great option for a family or friends planning to get out and explore the Northumberland coast and countryside. Bamburgh is a 10 minute drive, and Alnwick, 20 minutes.

Adequate overall. Cottage is tired in parts especially in relation to the kitchen. At the price this place costs you would justifiably expect a bit more. Intermittent internet access was also frustrating.
Mr Paley
Great base for exploring Northumberland property excellent in quiet location
Mr David King
Generally OK and well equipped - but mentioned that a number of lights were not working in note left on departure. Kitchen utensils rather random and not what needed. Arrival pack not available but quickly sorted but sunday arrival meant unable to purchase immediately for ourselves. Location good but outdoor space in courtyard too public and not apparent from photos. .
