Situated just 4 miles east of Alnwick, Alnmouth is a charming resort popular with golfers and those seeking a peaceful holiday. The village lies on a narrow spit of land between the River Aln and the North Sea and was originally the port for Alnwick. Nowadays the area has returned to its unspoilt origins and offers a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as an excellent “links” golf course and some great rivers for fishing, as well as boasting miles and miles of splendid beaches and sand dunes to explore which afford stunning views of the North Sea. A short drive will bring you to Alnwick with its famous historic castle, The Alnwick Garden housing the Poison Garden which runs guided tours through dangerous botanicals and a variety of pubs and restaurants. There are lots of trees around and we heard lots of birdsong. The clean and efficient lift was very useful for moving luggage. ( I suggest that could be mentioned in your publicity). The apartment It is in an ideal location - a very short walk into Alnmouth village. On site parking is excellent in a busy place. There are lovely walks straight from the property. It's only a mile to the mainline station so we took the train to Newcastle one day. We had a lovely time and hope to come back.
