Guests that stayed at this property said

Most guests found the cottage clean and well-equipped. However, one review mentioned that the property was not clean and full of the owner's belongings, which suggests a possible inconsistency in cleanliness standards.

The location is consistently praised for its proximity to the beach, quietness, and accessibility to local attractions and amenities, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing break.

The cottage is well-equipped with DVDs, a secure garden, and other extras. One review mentioned a non-functional TV in the bedroom and a desire for a frying pan, but overall, facilities are highly regarded.

While the reviews reflect a positive experience, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the host. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

If you’re looking for a holiday home that offers the full range of home comforts in a stunning coastal setting, then you’ve come to the right place with a stay at McTash Cottage.

This attractive and peaceful harbour village is situated beside one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland’s Heritage Coastline - Beadnell Bay. Established in Saxon times, Beadnell was once an important fishing village and a smuggler's haven. Nowadays, it is still a fishing village, but is equally popular with holidaymakers who come to enjoy its pretty harbour and, of course, the nearby sandy beaches. The village has a shop, two pubs and a café serving food. Popular Seahouses is just over a mile away and has shops, a supermarket and restaurants, and it also offers boat trips from the harbour to the magnificent Farne Islands - a haven for bird watchers. Bamburgh is close by, whilst the market town of Alnwick with its Castle and Gardens, shops, pubs and restaurants is a short drive away.

This is clearly a loved family home and thankfully a far cry from a lot of the sterile and soulless holiday lets that are bought up and rented out around this part of Northumberland. It has a lovely ‘feel’ to it which makes you relax and unwind as soon as you get inside and unpacked. I don’t think I’ve slept so well in ages! There’s a large enclosed garden which is ideal for dogs and a very short walk to the fabulous beaches in one direction and the village amenities in the other. The Courtyard Cafe is worth a visit - Great breakfasts! I’d recommend this lovely cottage without hesitation to anyone wanting a peaceful, relaxing break in one of the most picturesque parts of the Northumberland coast.

Very close to the beach is a real bonus. The cottage is simple and no frills, but suited us for our time there. The heating is not great as uses storage heaters, but note after first cold night it soon warms up.

..great for our 2 dogs and fantastic walks from the front door. Helpful neighbours too. The sea swimming didn't pan out because of the harsh NE wind so only got in once. Lovely place to stay and local eating places are excellent. Definitely back soon for a hat trick !
