Snaptrip says

Wynns Cottage in Tideswell is highly praised for its comfort, cleanliness, and prime location for exploring the Peak District. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, cosy atmosphere, and proximity to local amenities. The cottage's charm and thoughtful touches contribute to a delightful stay, despite minor feedback on maintenance and parking.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Most guests found the cottage to be immaculately clean upon arrival, contributing to a welcoming and comfortable stay. However, a few mentioned issues with a shower plug and spider webs, slightly affecting the overall cleanliness score.

The cottage's location is consistently lauded for its convenience to local pubs, shops, and scenic walks, making it an ideal base for exploring the Peak District. The only minor concerns were about narrow lanes and parking.

Guests frequently mention the comfortable beds and cosy atmosphere of the cottage. There are some remarks about uncomfortable sofas, but these are few compared to the overall positive feedback on comfort.

The property is well-equipped, with a stocked kitchen and amenities like Netflix, though there are comments about a non-working DVD player and a lack of a dishwasher. Maintenance issues like a hard-to-open gate and a full recycling bin were noted.

While guests appreciate the well-stocked kitchen and local fresh flowers, there is no mention of gifts, and therefore it is not possible to assess the thoughtfulness based on the provision of gifts. As such, the score is set to null.

About this property

A perfect country cottage in one of the best villages in the Peak District.

In a jumble of cottages just up from the centre of Tideswell is this superb country cottage. It has been carefully decorated and furnished while keeping many of the original features. The cottage has a lounge with glowing log burning stove, attractive dining kitchen, two good size double bedrooms one with a substantial king size bed, a family bathroom, en-suite shower room and downstairs cloakroom with WC. Outside there is a sunny patio with garden furniture.

Wander down into the village and you will find traditional shops, a small supermarket, tearooms, friendly pubs, fish and chip shops and a superb restaurant. Venture a little further and you can be walking besides the River Wye in Water-cum-Jolly Dale or on the Limestone Way heading out across the Peaks.

Of course, Derbyshire's numerous attractions are close-by too. Buxton and its amazing Opera House or Bakewell with its famous Pudding have got to be on your list. Chatsworth House with its beautiful gardens, adventure playground and farmyard is another must. Have an exciting day exploring Castleton's 'Blue John' caverns or perhaps hire a cycle to explore the Monsal or High Peak Trails.

At the end of the day call at one of the village pubs before enjoying the last glass on the cottage's patio.

We loved staying at Wynns cottage, it was very comfortable and central to everything we wanted to do in the Peaks. The kitchen is so well equipped, lovely to have a log burner and a washing machine for soggy clothing. Plenty of hot water and two bathrooms are handy. The village has good facilities, pubs, coffee shop, bakery, great Italian etc and we enjoyed walking to Litton to The Red Lion for dinner. Definitely recommend.

We enjoyed our stay at Wynn cottage, the cottage was clean, well equipped and had lots of character. The bed was comfortable however we found the sofa’s uncomfortable especially by the end of the holiday. We felt we just couldn’t get comfortable on them. The Village is lovely and would definitely stay there again, plenty of places to eat or go for a drink. And we loved hearing the church bells from the cottage. Parking was never an issue. There was one occasion we couldn’t park next to the cottage, but we soon found a spot down the lane. On one of the days we got a Bus to Buxton, which was very straight forward and easy to do. Overall we had a great stay! Great cottage in a great location!

We had a lovely week in this comfortable, homely cottage. We found it very clean and well equipped. Location wise we walked from the cottage door everyday or used the brilliant local bus service. Couldn't fault our stay even with the snow!
