Snaptrip says

Cliffe Cottage in Lewes is highly praised for its cleanliness, prime location, and cosy comfort. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, tasteful decor, and thoughtful touches such as flowers and welcome gifts. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is delightful, with the property serving as an excellent base for exploring the town and surrounding areas.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests consistently mention the property's spotless condition and high standards of cleanliness, with several reviews highlighting the well-maintained and clean environment.

The cottage's location is frequently commended for being central and convenient, allowing easy access to local shops, cafes, and attractions, making it an ideal spot for exploring Lewes and nearby areas.

The majority of guests find the cottage cosy and welcoming, with comfortable furnishings and a homely feel. However, a few comments about draughts and the need for secondary glazing suggest there is room for improvement in ensuring complete comfort.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a fully equipped kitchen and other amenities. Some reviews, however, point out maintenance issues such as a problematic window and a coat rack needing repair, which slightly impacts the score.

Guests are pleased with the thoughtful gestures, including welcome gifts and local information provided. While these are appreciated, it is politely noted that such personal touches, although delightful, are not guaranteed with every stay.

Lovely little back yard with table and chairs, perfect for an early morning cup of tea or late night glass of wine. It is centrally situated in the beautiful South Downs and is very close to Charleston House and perfect for exploring the coast and countryside of East Sussex. Set in Lewes which is a great town , full of charm and interesting places, loads of independant shops and plenty of very good places to eat. We are definitely planning to make a return visit.

.No noise from the street ( a cul-de-sac ) and the main bedroom and lounge face away from the road . Very close to shops and cafes . We came by train and used both train and bus to get around, including the little shuttle bus to Charleston as well as walking along the river from the house .

Lewes is a fine town with many excellent places to eat and drink and also has very good public transport links (bus & train) to nearby places of business interest.
