Snaptrip says

Kensa is a well-received cottage in Cornwall, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and prime location for exploring the area. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, including welcome gifts and dog-friendly amenities. The property boasts a hot tub and is equipped with modern conveniences, though some guests noted minor issues with appliances and heating.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The property consistently receives high marks for cleanliness, with multiple reviews highlighting its immaculate condition. One review mentioned a 'doggy smell', but this seems an isolated comment amidst overall positive feedback.

The location is frequently described as ideal for exploring Cornwall, with easy access to various attractions. The proximity to amenities and beaches is also noted, although one review mentioned the need for caution when driving in and out due to its corner plot.

Comfort is generally praised, especially the beds and homely feel. However, a few guests had specific preferences regarding bed firmness and pillows, and one mentioned the underfloor heating being occasionally cold, slightly lowering the score.

Facilities are well-regarded, with the hot tub being a highlight. Some guests experienced issues with the smart TV and kitchen appliances, suggesting room for improvement in maintenance and user instructions.

Guests are delighted by the thoughtful touches, such as welcome baskets and dog treats. While these gifts are warmly received, it's important to note that such offerings, while indicative of the owners' hospitality, may vary and are not guaranteed.

About this property

St Day 1 mile. Resting on the outskirts of Carharrack, near the amenities of St Day in Cornwall is Kensa, a contemporary, single-storey dwelling. Set near a host of shops, pubs and eateries, and a short car journey from the shoreline, Kensa offers an idyllic base for a family break, complete with an enclosed patio with hot tub, countryside views, and an open-plan living space; four guests and three furry companions are welcomed. Park up off-road and head indoors, firstly reaching the living space, where you can prepare meals in the sleek kitchen, dine as a four, and unwind on the plush sofas with a Smart TV for light entertainment. Spend sunny days in the suntrap patio, where you'll also locate the indulgent hot tub, perfect for soaking the evenings away after a day of adventure. Prepare for bed in the spacious bathroom, complete with both a bath and a shower over, before selecting between two double bedrooms; one of which enjoys views of the front lawn. Awaken to explore the area, stocking the fridge by visiting a nearby convenience store, or fulfilling your self-catering needs by dining out at The Star Inn, Vogue, or the St Day Inn. Enveloping the area, you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to rural landscapes, with both the Bissoe Valley Nature Reserve and the Kennall Vale Nature Reserve ready to explore. Travel to the shoreline and the St. Agnes Heritage Coast, offering the chance to stroll along Porthtowan Beach, or continue further afield to Portreath Beach, with the breath-taking Carvannel Downs walking trail, and Tehidy Park Golf Club nearby for further leisure activities. Round off your trip with a tour of the Royal Cornwall Museum, set near Truro River, or head to the peak of the county, the bustling town of St Ives, to discover the Tate St Ives, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, and further golden terrain at Porthgwidden Beach. Experience all of this at Kensa.

Originally, St. Day was named for the obscure Saint Day or Dye (better known in Brittany). The community now features a pub, a convenience shop, and a granite church built in the gothic style in 1828. The well-known village of Portreath, which draws tourists from all over the world with its untamed and rugged coastline, is only six miles away. The region is characterised by high cliffs, isolated coves, and sandy, surf-washed beaches, and all around are remnants of the area's historic industrial background. In addition to its secure, protected sandy beach, Portreath has a small fishing harbour, stores, a few pubs, three cafés, and a Chinese takeaway. Visit Truro, a 7-mile drive away cathedral city with cobblestone streets, a shopping mall, a theatre, a museum, and fantastic restaurants, for a fun day out, or drive a few miles along the coast to Gwithian and follow the long stretch of sandy coastline that descends to Hayle and continues on to Saint Ives.

Even more facilities included this trip. Lovely and clean, light and airy. We came last year with our doggo and was expecting our first child and was lucky enough to return, this year, with our 8-month-old son for his first holiday. We love it so much we want to make it our annual trip to Cornwall. We recommend it to anyone looking to stay in and our parents have now booked in for October. Already looking forward to returning next year.

It was perfect, welcoming, completely dog friendly and all perfectly as described. We loved the comfy beds and the hot tub most of all. The property was super clean to top it all, On arrival we were given scones, clotted cream and jam, plus a bottle of wine, and not forgetting the dogs, there were treats for them too. This is the best cottage we’ve ever booked.

From the moment we stepped in it was perfect. Cozy, homely, warm and has everything you could want at home. The hot tub was a blissful way to relax after all the walking days. There are some beautiful beaches only 20 minutes away and an amazing Chinese in the village. It's a great place to stay and we have already booked our return!
