High Park Barn in Cullompton, Devon, is a well-received holiday rental with guests praising its peaceful location, welcoming hosts, and thoughtful touches such as cookies and milk on arrival. The property is described as comfortable, clean, and dog-friendly, with a secure courtyard and access to local walks. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall sentiment is positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The majority of guests found the property clean, with specific compliments on its tidiness. However, a few reviews mentioned the need for a deeper clean, particularly in the bathroom where mould was noted, and a soiled pillow was found. These issues slightly affected the overall cleanliness score.

The location is highly praised for its quiet, rural setting with easy access to local amenities and walks. The property's proximity to both the north and south coasts of Devon is appreciated, making it an ideal base for exploring the area.

Guests generally found the property comfortable, with a cosy atmosphere and a firm mattress that was particularly appreciated by those with back issues. However, some guests mentioned that the sofa and bed springs could be improved, which slightly impacts the comfort score.

The facilities at High Park Barn are considered adequate by most guests, with a well-equipped kitchen and a secure area for dogs. Some guests suggested that a washing machine would be more useful than a large dishwasher, and there were comments about the need for maintenance on certain appliances and furniture.

The hosts are frequently commended for their thoughtfulness, with mentions of a warm welcome and provisions like milk and cookies. While these gestures are appreciated, it is noted that such personal touches may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.

The location is good, it's warm, quiet and the bed is very comfortable but it needs a really deep clean especially in the bathroom which is full of black mould (shower, tiles, windows etc) and some investment in repairs and maintenance of the building and equipment. The window blinds are grubby and fraying, the pillows totally flat, the TV cable needs renewing from the booster box to the TV, the duvet stained, the sofa tired and faded, the light bulb in the fridge not working and many other minor issues need attention. Disappointing overall when all the items needing attention require so little time, cost and energy to put right.
