EAST PORTLEMOUTH, SOUTH DEVON

The Old Mill is a comfortable and tastefully presented holiday home that has been imaginatively converted from the original mill to make a superb individual, spacious and characterful property. Ideally suited for those looking for a self catering holiday close to the sandy beaches of East Portlemouth, South Devon and the busy Salcombe estuary. Tucked away in the shadow of the Norman church it enjoys a delightful unspoilt rural location and it is a pleasant stroll downhill to the beautiful sandy beaches and the passenger ferry that can take you across to Salcombe, bustling with activity during the season. This property is also pet friendly, so there's no excuse for not getting out and about and doing some serious walking. The National Trust headlands and South West Coastal Path are nearby, granting the visitor some truly spectacular views of this beautiful coastline. The village of East Prawle, with its popular pub, The Pigs Nose, provides an entertaining venue and Torcross, with its shingle beach and freshwater nature reserve and the former fishing village of Beesands, both with excellent pub/restaurants are also worth visiting.

Accommodation: 

Large entrance hall, with separate cloakroom. The large farmhouse style and very well fitted kitchen has a pine dining table, seating for 8, oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, larder fridge, under counter freezer and microwave. A few steps lead up to the spacious lounge comfortably furnished with three large sofas, one a sofa bed, two Poang chairs, exposed scissor beams, woodburning stove, 42” wide screen TV/DVD and views across to Dartmoor. Down a few steps from the hall to a master bedroom with panoramic floor to ceiling window, 5' double bed, wardrobe and en-suite shower room with power shower, wash basin, and WC. Family bathroom, with bath, hand held shower, shower cubicle with power shower, hand basin, WC and heated towel rail. Twin bedroom with two 3ft single beds. Bunk room with two 3ft bunk beds.

Outside:

Secluded patio with garden table and chairs, garden store and barbecue. 

Parking:  Parking for 2 cars plus unrestricted road parking (if available)..

  • Local Facilities: Beaches on the  Salcombe estuary approximately half a mile, within easy walking distance.  Downhill to the beach, uphill and a little longer on the way back! Other beaches accessible by car or passenger ferry. Nearest shop and pub 3 miles in East Prawle. An abundance of pubs, restaurants, shops, bank and Post Office, all in Salcombe, accessible by passenger ferry.  Kingsbridge with all facilities, 10 miles.
