The Old Dairy in Bridport is a well-received cottage, praised for its warm welcome, comfortable furnishings, and excellent location for exploring Dorset. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, including a welcome pack with local treats. The property offers a relaxing atmosphere, ample parking, and is pet-friendly, making it ideal for families and those looking to enjoy the countryside.
Reviews consistently mention the cottage being clean, airy, and well-maintained, suggesting high standards of cleanliness.
The cottage is lauded for its ideal location, convenient for seaside visits and exploring nearby towns, with great views and accessible grounds.
The property is described as comfortable, with special mentions of cosy beds. However, one mention of low sofas for elderly guests slightly affects the score.
While the reviews speak positively about the overall facilities, specific references to maintenance issues like loose toilet seats and the need for an outside dustbin prevent a full score. There is not enough consistent detail across reviews to provide a comprehensive score.
Guests frequently mention the welcome pack and personal touches, indicating a high level of thoughtfulness. However, it should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and may not be guaranteed for every stay.
Bridport 3.3 miles. Enjoying rural surroundings in the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is this characterful, detached barn conversion, The Old Dairy. This dog-friendly dwelling has been thoughtfully appointed with a family of six in mind, especially one seeking to explore the Jurassic Coast, countryside, and the historic towns and villages with plenty of activities nearby. Bridport is a charming market town that grew up around the River Brit and was shaped by its long history of rope and net manufacturing. Today the same streets are filled with a fascinating array of businesses, restaurants, and inns. The market in Bridport is frequently featured in the River Cottage television show. The stunning Jurassic coast at West Bay, now a World Heritage Site, lies 2 miles south of Bridport, while Lyme Regis is only 10 miles away. A fantastic location for exploring West Dorset.

Toilet seats were loose. Some of the crockery is very stained. You need a dustbin outside the property. On the plus side the beds were very comfortable and it's a lovely cottage in a nice location.

The cottage was spacious, light and airy, clean, cool and comfortable. It was provisioned with everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The cider and cream tea's to welcome us were delicious and much appreciated. Esther was very welcoming and helpful with her local knowledge of all the good places to visit. As the car driver, I appreciated the ample parking space available.

The cream tea and cider was a lovely welcome surprise and we would definitely recommend this property for touring around Dorset. We were lucky to have very good weather and Esther was very helpful in providing us with fans to make the hot evenings more comfortable. Hopefully we will return.
