About this property

Broadmayne 2.9 miles. Carnotze, a quaint, single-storey holiday home, is nestled in an attractive location in Owermoigne, Dorset. This beautiful residence marries rustic country chic with convenience and has everything a couple or lone traveller may need for a self-catering break, with an en-suite bedroom and characterful elements throughout. As you arrive, you are greeted by private parking before entering the open-plan living space, which features exposed beams and a mix of woods and textures, providing a chic and rustic feel. The kitchenette offers enough space to prepare humble meals before embarking on a day of excursions. Dine at the dining table while you plan your schedule, then unwind on the L-shaped sofa. Outside, the charming garden, complete with a table and chairs for alfresco dining, is excellent for the warmer months. When it's time to sleep, the double room welcomes you to snuggle up, and when it's time to get up, the shower room provides a place to prepare for the day. If you don't feel like cooking, stock up at Kate's Farm Shop or treat your loved one to a meal out at Sailor's Return restaurant. Visit the well stocked garden centre nearby, offering lunches and cream teas. When you're ready to go exploring, head to Tadnoll Nature Reserve; beautiful but swampy, the nature reserve is a wonderful day trip, but don't forget your waterproofs! Those who enjoy the beach, can head to Lulworth, where you can sunbathe at Lulworth Cove, explore Stair Hole, noted for its caves and stone arches, or walk down the seashore to Fossil Forest. Head to Weymouth for a great selection of restaurants and walks along the West Dorset Heritage Coast, or inland to Dorchester for more hustle and bustle. Longer drives will take you to the Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the New Forest National Park, both of which provide picturesque walks and outdoor sports. Carnotze is ideal for a romantic getaway, any time of year.

Between Dorchester and Weymouth in Dorset is the quaint rural community of Broadmayne. Nearby points of interest include the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, the Osmington White Horse, and the Came Down Golf Club. The village itself is located in a historic part of England, on the outskirts of the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are a few places to eat in the area; the village shop has the basics, and The Black Dog serves traditional British fare. The county town of Dorchester, which is home to multiple museums and the former home of poet and novelist Thomas Hardy (now owned by the National Trust) as well as the Kingston Maurward Animal Park and Gardens, is conveniently located near the village. Weymouth is a bit further away, but it has beautiful sandy beaches and plenty of coastal paths perfect for a day of coastal fun.

Think it could benefit from some better lighting as it was difficult to read at night. Very friendly and helpful owners and Nelly was lovely. The garden felt safe for our dog.Great location in a very pretty village

Classic barn conversion was comfortable, rustic and in keeping with the “Country Cottage” feel. We both slept well and felt it was a good base for exploring our favourite areas of the beautiful Dorset coast. Small cooking area was sufficient for cooked breakfasts or a small meal. Lovely farm shop 10mins walk away.

Xtreme Falconry a must. Cottage was comfortable but a bit dark. Great shower and comfortable bed. Cooking facilities a bit odd but ok for basic cooking. No coat hangers . Nice little outside area with table and chairs. Would visit again. Good value for money.
