The Carriage in Lydney receives high praise for its helpful hosts, beautiful garden, and stunning views. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness, comfort, and the thoughtful touches such as welcome gifts. While some minor cleanliness issues and the need for modernisation are mentioned, the overall experience is positive, with many guests looking forward to returning.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Most guests found The Carriage to be very clean and comfortable, with several positive remarks about its tidiness. However, a few guests noted areas that could benefit from deeper cleaning, such as around the toilet, floor near the shower, and the presence of cobwebs and spiders, slightly affecting the score.

The location is frequently described as perfect, with proximity to local attractions like Puzzlewood, steam trains, and caves. The convenience of nearby Tesco and the beautiful views are also appreciated. The mention of a busy road is a minor concern but does not significantly detract from the overall positive feedback.

Guests consistently report that The Carriage is warm, cosy, and comfortable, with several comments on the good quality of the beds and the cosiness of the apartment. The property is described as a calm space for a family break, contributing to a high comfort score.

The Carriage is well-equipped according to guests, with a modern kitchen and powerful shower. However, some guests feel that the property could benefit from modernisation and that certain areas require maintenance. The presence of a well-maintained garden and the overall equipment provided contribute to a positive score.

Many guests mention the thoughtful welcome gifts and the hosts' attentiveness, which contribute to a pleasant stay. While these gifts are highly appreciated, it is important to note that such gestures, though common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Very spacious for two adults and two labradors. The garden is beautiful, lots of spaces and levels and even though it’s shared & was sunny we didn’t bump into anyone in the garden. The carriage was very clean & tidy, loved the vibe of the apartment. Doug (the owner) we met him on the day we arrived in the garden & was lovely, made us and our dogs feel very welcomed. We can’t wait to revisit. 5 star stay :)

We didn't get much use out of the outside area as it was a cold February week, but it looked nice enough! Pleased to find a selection of biscuits when we arrived, and the owners were very pleasant and easy to deal with.

The property is very spacious, everything is new and works well. Would definitely recommend.
