Snaptrip says

The Birches is a charming and spacious farmhouse offering a peaceful retreat with stunning countryside walks and wildlife. Its proximity to Hay on Wye and Hereford makes it an ideal location for exploring. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable living spaces, and the added bonus of an EV charging point. While some find the property's remote nature and quirky features endearing, others note the need for better internet and more comfortable beds.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Most guests found The Birches to be clean, with only a few mentioning issues with cleanliness such as dirty pots and a rolling pin with mould. The house was described as very clean by a recent guest, indicating that cleanliness is generally maintained to a good standard.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, beautiful surroundings, and proximity to Hay on Wye and Hereford. The remote setting is appreciated for its quietness and access to nature, although some guests noted the single track lanes can be challenging.

Guests enjoy the spaciousness and cosiness of the living areas, but several reviews mention that the double beds are uncomfortable. The twin beds, however, are noted to be comfortable, and the provision of quality linen and duvets is appreciated.

Facilities are generally good, with a well-stocked kitchen and EV charging point. However, some guests were disappointed with the games room and the limited internet allowance. The warmth of the log burner and the presence of a pay phone are positively noted.

The provision of bread, milk, butter, and snacks by the owner was a thoughtful touch that guests appreciated. However, it should be noted that such gifts may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.

It’s a peaceful ‘home’ to come back to after a day out. The house was very clean, and there were appreciated basics such as soap, washing up liquid, and so on. Kitchen equipment was sufficient, although the knives have seen better days. The furniture was in keeping with the house, but could do with some tlc. Parking was super easy. The route to the house is along a single track lane which wasn’t an issue to us but may be for some. It’s a shame it is a no dog house as we have dogs and usually they come with us on holiday. This time we were attending the Hay Festival so it suited us fine to not have them for once. Overall I would recommend The Birches.

we saw deer as well as a fox and squirrels. a beautiful spacious house. the only thing is that it really needs a thorough cleaning. nice landlord. What is not stated on the site is that at the back of the holiday home, up the hill, there are 2 other holiday homes. So your are not completly alone if its rented.

Lovely house - spacious amd comfortable. Could do with more toilet paper, as not quite enough to cover the stay, and It's quite way to the shops to stock up. Also the security light is a heavy strobe light that took away from the atmosphere and star gazing. It would be great if it could be turned off by guests.
