Guests that stayed at this property said

Reviewers are unanimous in their appreciation of the property's cleanliness, often describing it as 'spotless' and 'immaculately clean', indicating a very high standard maintained by the owners.

The property's location is praised for its tranquillity and proximity to attractions like Alton Towers. While it is appreciated for its countryside setting, some guests note the necessity of a car for convenience, slightly impacting the score.

Comfort is a highlight, with guests finding the beds particularly comfortable and the house cosy. A few minor comments about duvet warmth and towel rails suggest room for improvement, but overall satisfaction is very high.

Facilities are well-regarded, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen and high-quality finishes. A couple of minor niggles regarding bath mats and towel rails are noted, but these do not detract significantly from the overall positive feedback.

The thoughtfulness of the owners is evident through mentions of welcome treats and helpful local advice. While such personal touches are highly valued, it is politely noted that these gestures, though common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

About this property

A delightful three bedroom converted coach house in the centre of the picturesque Staffordshire village of Church Leigh, near the southern tip of the Peak District National Park. Set in the grounds of the owner’s home, this beautiful brick-built conversion is tastefully furnished throughout and is the perfect place for couples and families to enjoy a peaceful retreat or as a base to explore the surrounding countryside. The modern open plan kitchen and dining area with granite work surfaces and polished porcelain flooring is a fantastic space for socialising. From here French windows open into the sheltered courtyard and garden where children can play safely and you can sit in the sun and enjoy a glass of something refreshing with birds and church bells supplying the background music. The sitting room is a comfortable and cosy place to sit and chat or just gaze into the mesmerising designer fireplace, a modern take on a log burning stove. The three bedrooms are furnished with quality beds and furniture and one has an en-suite shower room. The bathroom is light, contemporary and finished to a very high standard. Staying close to your home-from-home you can decide whether to be saint or sinner as one neighbour is the beautiful All Saints Church and the other is the village pub! If you can tear yourself away, venture a little further to explore Ashbourne with its narrow cobbled alleys, market stalls and coaching inns. There are lots of lovely villages to explore and walks to enjoy such as stunning Dovedale and the abbey ruins at Croxden. Alton Towers is just 9 miles away or maybe enjoy a day at Uttoxeter Races, a mere 7 miles canter away. Whatever the season and whatever the weather, this luxury cottage makes for a great holiday.

Steeped in history and situated at the southern end of the Peak District, is the lovely village of Church Leigh with a beautiful Norman church. With Uttoxeter Racecourse and Alton Towers within very easy reach, this is a lovely village for a holiday.

Even managed some warm dry weather!! Plenty of places to visit whatever your interests. Would thoroughly recommend it.

The owners made it special: not only a warm and practically helpful welcome, but lots of useful small touches which showed careful thought has gone into what renters might need, with plenty of handy local information and guidance. To cap it all, when floods almost cut off the hamlet Andrew volunteered to drive us to the rail station, at some personal risk. That went above and beyond any duty call, for which we are very grateful.
