The Old Chapel is a well-received holiday cottage, praised for its comfort, cleanliness, and thoughtful touches. Guests have enjoyed the beautiful setting, the property's proximity to local attractions, and the welcoming atmosphere. The cottage's conversion is admired for its high standard and the welcome packs are appreciated. While some minor issues are mentioned, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many guests recommending the property and expressing a desire to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests consistently note the property's cleanliness, with many reviews highlighting it as spotless and well-maintained. One mention of a found dental flossing stick slightly impacts the otherwise impeccable feedback.

The location is generally praised for its quietness and proximity to walking trails and the coast. However, some guests noted the need for transport to access local amenities and the closure of the nearby pub, which slightly affects the convenience factor.

The majority of guests find the cottage comfortable, mentioning the cosy atmosphere and quality of the beds. A few guests commented on the lounge furniture being low, but this does not detract significantly from the overall comfort experienced.

Facilities are generally regarded as excellent, with special mentions of the powerful shower and well-equipped kitchen. Some feedback on electrical socket accessibility and the temporary closure of the local pub suggests room for minor improvements.

The thoughtfulness of the hosts is frequently commended, with guests appreciating welcome packs and the owner's helpfulness. It is noted that such gestures contribute positively to the stay, although they are not guaranteed for every visit.

Stayed with our little dog and everything was perfect for a relaxing week within easy reach of the lovely Yorkshire Coast. Super comfy bed, fabulous bath and shower, exceptionally clean with everything you could want if you choose to make meals while staying there. Easy access to walking trails on the doorstep. Great information from the owner about all the eco friendly features in the Old Chapel. We had beautiful weather so had no need to use the logburner but always plenty of hot water whenever we needed it. Lovely welccome pack and card when we arrived which was very much appreciated. We had the best time and seeing the northern lights on my birthday was the icing on the cake. Would love to come back

Coukdnt make calls from the property as signal was si bad.had to go into hornsea to get a signal which wasn't good. Was a bit taken back by the instructions to strip the bed and out it in the bag for washing. At least it stopped short of expecting it to be washed. Also found it a bit off that we were supposed to pay to hear the property!! No need it was warm enough but found this pretty poor tbh.All in all the property was adequate but the points we have made were a downside and I'm afraid to say it's not a property we would come to again.

The bed was very comfortable. The location was peaceful and convenient for Hornsea and the Trans Pennine Trail. An added bonus was the welcome pack which included a bottle of the local beer and a white wine. The accommodation was definitely value for money. In addition the owner's communication was excellent. It is good to note that to get the maximum benefit of the heating system and sufficient hot water in winter, the wood burning stove needs to be used. This incurs an additional cost of £5 per basket for the wood. Although this cost isn't necessarily unreasonable, it is best to know about it in advance. The Sykes description doesn't highlight this point.
