Its proximity to local pubs and eateries, as well as scenic walks, makes it a highly recommended retreat for a delightful holiday.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Reviewers frequently mention the property being 'spotlessly clean on arrival', indicating high standards of cleanliness that contribute to the overall positive experience.

The cottage's central position in Middleham, close to pubs, shops, and scenic walks, is highly praised, making it an ideal base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales.

Comfort is a standout feature, with numerous guests lauding the 'super king-sized bed' and the 'cosy' atmosphere of the cottage, suggesting a very comfortable stay.

The cottage is well-regarded for its facilities, including a log burner and well-equipped kitchen. However, a few comments about a sagging settee, which was replaced, and a low-pressure hot water tap suggest minor room for improvement.

Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like a welcome hamper, although it's important to note that such gifts, while delightful, may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.

About this property

The amenities of Middleham are on the doorstep, including excellent old pubs and local eateries as well as a castle dating back to the 11th century. Renowned for its history and race horses, the attractive Wensleydale town of Middleham connects much of its history with its Norman castle, dating from 1190 and with a keep second in size only to the Tower of London. The town's charming market square has been partially cobbled and offers a wide range of shops, pubs and places to eat, whilst the bustling market town of Leyburn is just a short drive away and offers a variety of great shops and pubs. Visitors can also explore The Forbidden Corner, a unique labyrinth of tunnels, chambers and surprises set amidst four acres of grounds, which provides a fun day out for all the family.
