Snaptrip says

Cleeve Cottage is a well-received holiday rental in Leyburn, praised for its cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests appreciate its quiet location, ideal for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. The garden and cosy atmosphere are recurrent positive notes, although some maintenance issues are mentioned.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Most guests found the cottage to be spotlessly clean, with only a few mentioning issues such as cobwebs and dusty surfaces. The high frequency of positive comments suggests a generally high standard of cleanliness.

The location is frequently described as quiet and convenient, with easy access to local shops, pubs, and attractions. The positive remarks about the setting in a historic village and proximity to walking routes contribute to a high score.

Guests often mention comfortable beds and a cosy atmosphere, although there are some negative comments about a lumpy mattress and hard pillows. The majority of reviews, however, lean towards a comfortable experience.

The cottage is generally well-equipped, especially the kitchen, but there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as a broken vacuum cleaner, heating problems, and a weak shower pressure. These issues suggest room for improvement.

While many reviews speak to the well-stocked basics and a welcoming atmosphere, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would fall under 'thoughtfulness'. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

About this property

A welcoming, stone link-detached cottage, set on a small estate on the outskirts of the pretty market town of Middleham. Stylish and contemporary throughout, Cleeve Cottage is a real delight with first class fittings and fixtures, offering friends and families an ideal holiday home for enjoying this popular area of the Yorkshire Dales. Featuring a comfortable sitting room with two beautiful sofas arranged around the main fireplace, which houses a characterful multi-fuel stove, this is a cosy space to put your feet up after a day of exploring the local countryside. The well-equipped kitchen/diner provides a great space to sit and enjoy an evening meal, talk about the travails of the day and prepare plans for the rest of the holiday. The master bedroom boasts a luxurious pocket sprung king-size bed and the second bedroom contains full-size twin single beds. Although it boasts two market places, Middleham is a now really only a market town in name; the Yorkshire Dales community is better known these days for its links to The Sport of Kings – horse racing. The old town is just a short walk from your cottage, and includes excellent old pubs and local restaurants, along with a well-stocked general store. The famous ruined castle, founded as a simple moat-and-bailey structure in the 12th century, is less than half a mile away, where fantastic views stretch across Wensleydale. The nearby villages of West Witton and East Witton boast award-winning gastropubs and both are well worth a visit. Explore nearby Bolton Castle, visit the famous Aysgarth Falls or take a ride on the Wensleydale Railway. This delightful cottage is ideal for a family or for a romantic break.

The attractive Wensleydale town of Middleham is renowned for its history and race horses. Much of the history is bound up with its Norman castle, which has a keep second in size only to the Tower of London. The pretty market square is partially cobbled and offers a range of shops, pubs and places to eat. All in all a superb base for exploring Wensleydale and all within easy driving distance of York, the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales and Heritage Coast.

I'd definitely stay at Cleve Cottage again. In a nice quiet neighborhood.

A comfortable stay with every thing we needed, a well maintained cottage. The centre of town was in easy walking distance, with a choice of places to eat and drink and plenty of interesting places to visit close by and further afield. We had a good time and would be happy to book again. There was a road diversion from the town centre to the cottage but once we knew where we were there was no problem.
