Guests appreciate the property's convenient location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and nearby villages. The thoughtful touches, such as welcome gifts and attention to detail, contribute to a welcoming and comfortable stay. While some guests mention low beams and beds, the overall sentiment is extremely positive, with many looking forward to returning.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Reviewers consistently describe the property as spotlessly clean, with several emphasising the pristine condition of the cottage. The attention to detail in cleanliness is frequently commended.

The property is appreciated for its idyllic setting in a peaceful village, with easy access to the Dales, Moors, and coast. The presence of a local pub and proximity to Richmond are also noted advantages.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the property cosy. However, there are some remarks about low beams and low beds in the upper bedroom, which could pose discomfort for taller individuals.

The property is well-equipped for self-catering, with a high standard of kitchen and bathroom facilities. There are minor comments about specific items like pillows and a tin opener, but overall, the facilities meet guests' needs.

Visitors frequently mention the thoughtful extras provided, such as welcome packs and biscuits. While these gifts are greatly appreciated, it is noted that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed with every stay.

Stunning location by in a corner by the village green, the beck and willow trees, excellent centre for touring north Yorkshire and County Durham. Pleasant, quiet village with friendly residents. I would recommend it to anyone, especially to a couple or to a single occupant wanting a secluded retreat. if I go again my only wish would be for warm sunny weather.

The property was pristine when it came to cleanliness , and the owner was extremely friendly and helpful . We found that Barton was a good base to explore from . The locals in the village were all friendly too . The biscuits and milk on arrival were most appreciated . Weather was a bit chilly but that didn't stop us at all , the Dales and its towns and villages are really worth visiting . Leyburn was a favourite of ours .

We had the benefit of good weather even if the rain storm was unexpected it was atmospheric and refreshing. Biccies, milk and coffee were a nice welcome on our arrival. No complaints re cleanliness or equipment other than a broken tin opener. Easy access to lots of places to visit - Bedale, Leyburn, Reeth, Ripon, Thirsk, Durham, York, Helmsley. Will definitely visit again.
