Beech View is a highly praised holiday rental, celebrated for its beautiful garden, relaxing hot tub, and the owners' hospitality. Guests consistently commend the property's cleanliness, comfortable amenities, and the convenience of its location. The cottage's compact space is well-utilised, making it a cosy retreat. While most experiences are positive, a few guests suggest minor improvements.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests are generally very satisfied with the cleanliness of the property, often describing it as well-kept. However, one review mentioned issues with the shower area, which slightly impacts the overall score.

The location is frequently highlighted as ideal, with its proximity to local amenities and attractions. The ease of access to public transport and the peacefulness of the setting contribute to a high score.

The majority of guests find the cottage comfortable, noting the cosy bed and the effective use of space. Some guests mentioned the bed being too soft, and a few had issues with the size of the indoor space, which slightly lowers the score.

Facilities are generally well-received, especially the hot tub and garden. However, there are comments about maintenance issues such as the shower and minor wear and tear, which suggests room for improvement.

The owners are commended for their thoughtfulness, providing little extras like tea and coffee. While these gestures are appreciated, it is noted that such personal touches are subject to change and not guaranteed.

About this property

This charming studio property is quietly tucked away behind a high stone wall, in the pretty market town of Malton. Accessed via the Old Lodge Hotel grounds, it is the perfect romantic hideaway for couples to enjoy the beautiful surrounding countryside of the North York Moors National Park, with easy access to the east coast resorts of Whitby, Scarborough and Filey. Small and compact, this creatively designed studio has a pull down king-size bed, which fits neatly into a feature wall. There is a cosy kitchen area, with bespoke hand-built painted cupboards and fold-away dining table, whilst two comfortable leather chairs provide relaxed viewing of the Smart TV. With character beams and an exposed stone wall, this lovely little property has patio doors opening onto a very private and secluded courtyard garden, with its own bubbling hot tub; a sheltered and sunny spot in which to unwind with a glass of wine. Guests are granted full use of the hotel’s expansive grounds with lawns, shrubs and trees. A five minute walk brings you into the hub of this vibrant market town, with some excellent restaurants, inns and quaint tea rooms. Wander around the galleries and antique shops and experience the weekly market held in the central square. The surrounding area has many attractions, including stately homes such as Castle Howard, Scampston Hall and Duncombe Park. Visit the nearby Lavender Fields or take a trip back in time on the North York Moors Steam Railway from Pickering. Catch the train in Malton and spend a wonderful day in York with its famous Minster, Jorvik Viking Centre and medieval city walls. Try a river cruise on the Ouse, followed by a gourmet meal in one of the many splendid restaurants. An ideal retreat for couples looking for something distinctly different!

The town of Malton has many interesting buildings including the old Corn Exchange and Assembly Rooms. A weekly market is still held in the town, as well as livestock and farmers' markets. The Yorkshire Moors are to the north, and the Yorkshire Wolds are to the south, making it excellent country for walkers and cyclists.

It has everything you could possibly need. They give you a little bit of milk in the fridge, tea bags, coffee, sugar. It has luxuries like it has a ninja air fryer, an ice maker, a smart tv with Netflix on there, an the most important one a hot tub! The place was very private and very clean and I cannot fault it at all! The owners were lovely and welcoming. There is a folder in there will instructions for every appliance in the cottage and everything in there tells you everything you need to know for your stay! I definitely recommend Florios for food which is a 5 minute walk away as the food was incredible and service was excellent! There is so much to do around there and it is so peaceful. We had a power cut on the first night and the neighbours came into the garden after to make sure everything was back in and that we were okay. It was a lovely place to be and we will definitely be going back! 11/10 recommend!

As described, lovely garden and hot tub. The fold down bed was really comfortable, upon folding down the bed it created a gap between the top of the bed and the wall. Bolster cushions were provided to fill the gap. We found these worked to a degree but not ideal. They were aware of this and asked for suggestions. I thought maybe some firm cut to size foam pieces would have been better. The cottage in general was very clean , however the shower floor appeared not to have been cleaned since last used. Maybe this had just been missed. Overall a beautiful private little cottage in a lovey location, two minute walk to the centre of Malton. Tip for anyone's birthday, sign up to the Talbot hotel birthday offer . If you eat on your actually birthday and can show proof , they give you a free main and desert off the main menu . Lovely hotel and delicious food there too.

The cottage was so cleverly thought out, amazing how much fitted in a small space but everything what was needed for a great stay.
