Snaptrip says

Fortunatus is a well-received cottage in Whitby, praised for its cleanliness, thoughtful touches including welcome packs, and good communication with the owner. While some guests found the cottage cosy and well-equipped, others noted issues with comfort, particularly the beds and the third bedroom size. The location is appreciated for its proximity to local amenities and the town centre, though some found it a bit far for walking. Facilities are generally good, but some guests mentioned maintenance needs and the lack of a proper shower setup.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The majority of guests found the cottage to be very clean, with several positive comments on its spotlessness. However, a few guests mentioned finding sand under the bed and a magazine from a previous stay, indicating occasional oversights.

The cottage's location is generally well-regarded, being close to supermarkets and within walking distance to Whitby's town centre. Some guests, however, felt that the walk to the centre was longer than expected and the proximity to a busy road was occasionally noted.

Guests praised the cottage's cosy atmosphere but raised concerns about the comfort of the beds and the suitability of the third bedroom for adults. The living space was appreciated, but the comfort of the sleeping arrangements received mixed reviews.

Facilities at Fortunatus are generally praised, especially the well-stocked kitchen and the inclusion of a welcome pack. However, some guests reported issues with the shower, oven, and other maintenance aspects that need attention.

The thoughtfulness of the hosts is highly commended, with many guests pleasantly surprised by the welcome packs. It should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are a courtesy and not guaranteed for every stay.

Fortunatus is well presented, well kept, comfortable, owners had left us a lovely welcome pack that we were not expecting, parking for our car and close to all amenities. Whitby is a few minutes drive, we went to Whitby Abbey, Bangers & Cash, to Goathland where Heartbeat was filmed, drove over the moors.....this property is perfect for being central to everything whilst being tucked away where it's quiet. The owners take good care of the property and we will book again.
