Very clean and comfortable. It had a good sized shower room and kitchen area contained all you would need. Close to a road but didn't bother me because hut faced the other way with a wonderful view over peaceful fields so I hardly noticed the traffic. It fact it made it easier to get out and visit local attractions. Helmsley with its Castle and Walled garden well worth a visit.

We visited lots of places on our stay such as Pickering, York, Ripon, Knaresborough, Robin Hoods Bay and Helmsley itself which has the most beautiful birds of pray centre thatâs always worth visiting. The shepherds hut is super cosy to come back to and has the most beautiful views over the fields, we were able to see the hares jumping around, the deerâs pacing over and the owls perched on the fence looking in. The hosts are fabulous, Fiona and Tim are always around to help if you need anything, and the pet sheep and goats next to the hut are a lovely bonus. We love it here and will be returning again soon as we feel very comfortable and perfectly at home.
