Snaptrip says

Guests consistently praise the cottage's prime location in Kirkcudbright, its comfort, and well-equipped nature, making it a home away from home. The property's character and the owner's thoughtful touches, including fresh flowers and a cake, contribute to a delightful stay. While all feedback is overwhelmingly positive, a single mention of difficulty with the shower operation suggests a minor area for improvement.

About this property

A delightfully situated small traditional town house once owned by the artist E A Hornel, one of "The Glasgow Boys" and situated in a quiet but central location in the Artists' Town of Kirkcudbright. The house is an ideal base from which to explore the area.

Within a short walking distance are the Harbour and Marina, MacLellan's Castle, Broughton House and Garden (National Trust for Scotland) and the historic Tolbooth with its gallery. There are several other art galleries and major exhibitions are regularly held in the town. The well-known Summer Festivities run throughout the summer and one is never short of things to do in and around the town. There are superb sandy beaches within easy reach, numerous golf courses, a swimming pool and wonderful walking and cycling country in this unspoilt area. Children are very welcome.
