However it was not clean. The aga was filthy and the hot plates full of friend on grease. Every plate and pan we used had to be washed first they were disgusting. The previous people left their trash and it was not removed by the cleaners.

The locals were friendly and enjoyed a good chat. Loved the sound of the sea at night even though it was calm throughout our stay. Rubbish disposal was a little difficult. Question. Would we return for another holiday to Burnmouth? Sadly, the answer is no, simply because of the beach which is a “boulder beach” and unusable.

You will love this cottage if you like seclusion and truly spectacular views. Cottage lovely, beds very comfy and spacious . Was left a bottle of wine which was lovely but a welcome pack would have been good such as milk, bread, biscuits (just a suggestion as shops a drive away and a late check in ). Only room for one car across from cottage which was made clear as parking a premium in this row so just bear in mind . We had a truly wonderful stay and would definitely return .
