Oyster Cottage is a gorgeous listed holiday cottage which is full of character. The original features and period furniture from the 17th Century gives the feeling of stepping back in time with the added value of modern facilities. The owner has designed the furnishing of this house so thoughtfully and it has so many unique features.
The kitchen has a quarry tiled floor and a lovely scrubbed oak table and settle. There is a gas cooker and hob, fridge with ice box, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier, microwave and all the pots, pans and utensils you will need.
The seating area has comfortable sofas set around a log burner. There is also a flat screen TV. The dining area is beautifully furnished with seating for six or more.
There is a ground floor bedroom with king size bed and doors out to patio area. There is also a ground floor bathroom with a bath, loo, wash hand basin and radiator. There is a separate shower room next door.
Upstairs there is a double room with king size bed, and a small double room tucked into the eaves.
To the rear of the house there is a private, enclosed garden with garden furniture, subtle lighting, decking and seating areas and hot tub. Views of the rolling countryside over to mountain and sea can be seen from the upper decking and seating area. There is on road parking.
Guests are advised that as the hot tubs need to be cleaned and emptied for each new set of guests, the water may not be fully up to temperature on the first evening of their stay.
Oyster Cottage is deceptively spacious and very cosy with central heating, clever lighting and fireside seating. It is within easy walking distance of pubs, restaurants and interesting shops in Beaumaris, as well as the famous moated castle, the Gaol and, of course, the lovely Green on the banks of the Menai Strait.
Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.

The cottage is quirky and unique, with lots of original features and steeped in history. It was well equipped with plenty of towels, fully stocked kitchen and firewood. The beds are comfy and plenty of wardrobe space, the smaller bedroom is on the small side and is more suited to a child. The garden is so magical, with something different every time we went out there. The hottub is a little dated but fun never the less. We always managed to find a parking space on the road. No WiFi, and intermittent 4g, but that's the case for the whole of beaumaris. Recommend the Liverpool Arms and the Bulls Head for food.

Fantastic location close to shops, restaurants and bars. Bottle of Prosecco and hamper a lovely gesture. Loved the garden, so many areas to sit out. We had to park down one of the streets opposite. Beds were comfortable, So peaceful at night couldnât hear a sound. Shower was small, couldnât find dvd player, dishwasher tablet holder broken, clearer instructions on how to use hot tub ie turn it off and No wi-fi. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and we would definitely return to Oyster Cottage.
