Avondale is a well-received holiday cottage in Porthmadog, praised for its spaciousness, cleanliness, and stunning views. Guests appreciate the comfortable bedding, well-equipped kitchen, and thoughtful touches. Its location is ideal for exploring North Wales, with easy access to local attractions and scenic walks. While some minor issues were noted, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many guests eager to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The majority of guests found Avondale to be clean and tidy, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. However, there were isolated comments regarding the need for a deeper clean in certain areas, such as the bathroom sinks.

The location is consistently lauded for its spectacular views and proximity to beaches, coastal walks, and the town of Porthmadog. It serves as an excellent base for exploring the area.

Guests describe the property as comfortable, with special mentions of the quality bedding and spacious living areas. The presence of multiple bathrooms adds to the comfort level, although there are comments about the property being cold upon arrival.

Reviews highlight the well-appointed kitchen and dining area, and the ample provision of pots, pans, and cutlery. However, some guests noted a lack of cooking equipment for larger meals and suggested the property could benefit from maintenance and updating of certain facilities.

While some guests mentioned receiving milk and cookies, which were appreciated, there is not enough consistent information across reviews to score this category accurately. It should be noted that such gestures, while delightful, are not guaranteed.

Milk in fridge and cookies/crisps were a really nice touch. Much better than a bottle of wine! We will definitely be back!

One of my favourite places in the country ! Nice area for costal walks. Recommend a ride on the Ffestiniog railway. House is set up for holidays with plenty of space.

It has large, light, airy bedrooms and is very clean and comfortable throughout. The kitchen area is spacious and the view of the beach and mountains from the outdoor seating area is spectacular. A great base from which you can explore the area and enjoy everything North Wales has to offer. Borth Y Gest is a quiet village which is fantastic for young families, the locals are kind and friendly. Would absolutely stay again.
