Snaptrip says

Glan Helyg is a well-received cottage in Newport, praised for its spaciousness, peacefulness, and convenient location close to local amenities. Guests appreciate the ample parking, comfortable furnishings, and the warmth of the property. The scenic views and proximity to coastal walks add to its charm. While most feedback is positive, there are mentions of areas for improvement, such as cleanliness and maintenance.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Most guests found the property to be clean and well-kept, though there was a notable complaint regarding pet hair and mustiness. This suggests occasional lapses in cleanliness, but not a widespread issue.

The location is highly praised for its convenience to shops, pubs, and restaurants, as well as its proximity to the beach and coastal walks. The quiet setting with scenic views is also appreciated.

Guests consistently mention the comfort of the property, highlighting the warmth, comfortable beds, and spaciousness that allow for a relaxing stay.

The property is commended for its well-equipped nature and new kitchen. However, some guests feel that the kitchen is small and dated, and there are suggestions for redecoration and updating of utensils.

While guests have mentioned a welcome gift of wine, there is not enough consistent information about thoughtful touches to accurately score this category. It should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and not guaranteed.

About this property

Glan Helyg is a superb, spacious detached property, close to the heart of Newport and is perfect for families or a group of friends.

Newport’s excellent range of eateries, pubs and individual shops are close by and a five minute walk to Parrog beach, the Nevern estuary and the coast path.

The larger beach of Newport Sands - Traeth Mawr - is within walking distance via the iron bridge and is backed by Newport’s 18-hole golf course.

Behind Newport is Carningli Mountain where from the top, wonderful views of Newport Bay, the Preseli Hills and even Ireland on a clear day, can be seen.

The coastal shuttle bus can be caught in the town, enabling walkers to tackle a different stretch of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path every day if desired. In fact, once guests have arrived, they could forget about using their car for the rest of their stay.

A beautiful and spacious home in a very convenient spot to access shops, pubs, restaurants etc in Newport. Yet, it was quiet and peaceful with ample parking. After a few hiccups with the heating, everything was quickly sorted out with Glan Helyg’s friendly owners. Highly recommended and we will definitely return.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this property and plan to re-book when we're next visiting North Pembrokeshire.
