Brosterfield Farmhouse does what it says on the tin: gives you a deliriously lovely view of the Peak District. This is rustic England padded with luxury. Settle back on soft furnishings in the cinema room, fire up the woodburner, take a picnic on the lawn, get together with friends and family and get a new perspective on life.

Past enchantingly English scenery, down a long drive, Brosterfield Farmhouse does just that: give you a deliriously lovely view of Derbyshire’s Peak District. For large groups and families, this is rustic England padded with high living. Stone walls, old oaks, endless lawns and a tyre swinging from a tree. What more could you want?

Maybe a dash of luxury? It’s laid on thick at Brosterfield Farmhouse. The house sleeps 20, the gleaming kitchen’s open-plan, the soft furnishings are ready to sink into, the Sky TV multi-room comes with movie channels, and there’s a cinema room with projector TV. In the lounge, the woodburner crackles a family-friendly welcome.Outside, the old oaks stare at the horizon as you invade the lawn. There’s croquet or cricket to be played, a football net, and swings to help you let go of your cares. Refuel with fresh local fare concocted on the double range oven and gather around the conservatory’s U-shaped table, or on the picnic benches, to chomp and chat.

Pass the time with games of pool, with books and blockbuster movies. Pop down the lane for a pint by the fire in the Bull’s Head. Get family and friends together and take over the Farmhouse. Leave your cares at home, yomp over the hills, bring your dog, waste a little time with the people who matter.

If it’s pub grub you’re after, try the local Bull’s Head in Foolow. Stroll down the lane with your dog and enjoy a pint or two of good local ales by the fire then ask the friendly landlord for a lift home after a night of fun. Or venture further to one of the many villages pubs nearby, such as the Barrel at Bretton or the Flagstone.  The surrounding area of Brosterfield offers a fantastic variety of restaurants, cafes and bakeries to suit any taste. For traditional Italian head to El Lupo's in Baslow or French at Piedaniels. Catch a coffee break at Riley’s in Bakewell or have a night in with a takeaway from The Curry Cottage. For a night of celebration or just in the mood for beautiful food, dinning at the Michelin-starred Fischer’s at Baslow Hall is the ideal place to spend the evening.   A short drive away are the most amazing Peak District attractions. Chatsworth House (10 mins), historic spa town of Buxton (20 minutes), Bakewell (5 minutes), Haddon Hall (10 minutes), and much, much more.
