The house is only rented for exclusive use so it is entirely yours for as long as you would like it. It is a unique Somerset farmhouse noted for its warmth and hospitality. Guests will be given a warm welcome in both the summer and winter, although in the winter log fires provide a cosy start to any visit, whilst in the summer extensive lawns prove a delightful setting for drinks or supper al fresco.
The house offers a fully equipped kitchen with four oven electric Aga plus electric hob with double oven below - large Amercian fridge freezer, dishwasher, food processor, microwave. Plenty of crockery, cutlery and glassware is provided. There is another drinks fridge off the dining room for wine and beer!
There are 5 double bedrooms furnished in neutral tones which all provide a very comfortable and peaceful nights sleep + a bonus bedroom downstairs (bedroom 6). The Master bedroom has a large and luxurious en suite with walk in shower and and claw footed bath and there is a dressing room adjacent with more space than you could ever wish for!
The second bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and the three further bedrooms share a family bathroom with bath, WC and shower. There is a handy downstairs WC off the kitchen/utility room. From every window there are magnificent uninterrupted views across the rolling Somerset countryside and peace and tranquillity that is hard to find in today’s busy world. There is an overflow bedroom downstairs which you are welcome to use although being Grade ll listed it does share the upstairs bathroom.
Enjoy the Hot Tub, tennis court or even a seasonal game of croquet on the lawn, or a stroll around the gardens or 30 acres of private woods behind through which there are many tracks - one towards the local pub called the Halfway House where they serve local ales and serve delicious food.
The extensive lawns provide a delightful setting for drinks or a BBQ. There are simply miles of tracks and droves to explore from the house and not far away you will find an ancient roman bridge across which you can cross towards yet more paths.
Hard Tennis Court (racquets and balls); Croquet lawn and kit; Woods behind, Lawns and herbaceous border behind. Gas BBQ - Views for miles around.
Within 3 mins of Somerton with shops, pubs and restaurants.
We can recommend a local caterer who offers a choice of delicious home cooked meals for dinner parties, lunches and a wide variety of suggestions to take the pressure off your stay. We offer a range of welcome items including a starter pack of tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits and dishwasher tablets, washing powder etc.
It is one of the most peaceful locations you could ask for. There are walks from the door for miles along the moors. Our dogs will accompany you if you wish for company and if you don't like dogs, we will keep them well away from you during your stay!
Car recommended, although taxis available if you are coming down from London by coach (see Berrys Coaches) from Hammersmith where a cab will meet you and bring you to your weekend Retreat!.
Fabulous opportunity as a wedding party venue or for group meditation, corporate weekends.
