The cottage sleeps 2 in a double bedroom with a stylish four poster bed and is one of four in a converted 18th century barn on a working farm near Landrake in S E Cornwall.

Downstairs the living area has a dining table and chairs, sofa and colour TV as well as a well equipped kitchen (full size electric cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave).

Upstairs is the bedroom with four poster bed and a seperate shower room with wc.

Bed linen is supplied. Electricity is included as is heating from Oct - May , available at other times at £20 / week.

Off road parking is available by the cottage. There are open plan gardens. Dogs are accepted in this cottage (max 2) except July & August. Please enquire about costs.

The cottage is set in a 400 acre mixed farm with suckler cows, sheep, arable crops and a collection of ponies,goats, llamas, dogs and cats.

You are welcome to walk around the farm.

The cottage is less than 2 miles from the village of Landrake - with its pub & shop / po - and the A38. Ideally placed for walkers as we are between Bodmin and Dartmoor.    There are also lovely walks in the Lynher and Tamar valleys. A number of NT houses and gardens, including Cothele and Anthony House (setting for Alice in Wonderland film)are nearby.    The beaches of Whitsand Bay and the smuggling villages of Looe & Polperro are less than 10 miles away.Seaton is a safe beach for children to play, about 8 miles away. Carp fishing is available on site, with other sites locally, along with horse riding, sailing and windsurfing.    Plymouth is home to the National Marine Aquarium, The Pavilions (ice skating, swimming & theatre) and museums.    Local activities for children include The Donkey Park, Bodmin & Wenford Steam railway. A little further afield is Trethorne Leisure park, The Lobster hatchery at Padstow, Ben's play world at St Austell, not forgetting the Eden Project  and The Lost gardens of Heligan which are about 40 minutes away.   New for 2013 is the new Aircraft museum near Newquay.   There are several places to eat within a short drive of Markwell.   Other Activities: clay pigeon shooting (less than 1 mile away), dry skiing, health club/gym, canoeing, boat trips & sea fishing   Golf: We are less than 5 miles from the internationally renown St Mellion club which has 2 x18 hole courses. The China Fleet Club in Saltash is about 4 miles away. Looe, Launceston, Lostwithial and Whitsand Bay are all a short drive away and have excellent facilities.   Ski: There is a dry ski and tobaggan centre in Plymouth for those who are looking for excitement.
