An old traditional farmhouse dating back to the Domesday Book and before. In the fields in the quiet valley facing south are our prize winning pedigree Shetland sheep, and chicken, ducks, cat and dog in the yard.
This cottage is a detached, charming and comfortable converted stable and hayloft which has retained all its character and its ancient exposed beams in all the rooms. Polished wood and slate floors, oak staircase, and south facing views from the upstairs living area.
Ground Floor: The entrance hall with slate floor leads into a spacious double bedroom with double bed, large walnut wardrobe and dressing table.
A smaller twin bedded room is on the left, and bathroom with W.C, basin, shower in the bath, and combination washing machine/tumble drier. The rooms have their original gnarled old beams, pine floors and natural wood finishes. First Floor Up the oak stairs the remainder of the Stables is open plan.
The living area faces south with views of the fields and valley, and has a wood burning stove, sofa and easy chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped, with pine table and dresser, and has hand painted tiles above the worktop.
Between the kitchen and living area is an informal eating area, with mahogany dining table and chairs. Services and Equipment Oil fired central heating (free of charge), colour T.V, video, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine / tumble drier, dishwasher, carry cot, high chair and various other little gadgets.
Bed linen is included in the price, but not towels.
Outside there is a parking area and, at the rear, a small private paved patio with seating up some steps.
A well behaved dog is welcome at a weekly charge of £20.
The Stables are available from Easter to September. Lettings are from Friday to Friday.
The historic town of Dartmouth, coastal walks and beaches are all six miles away. Six miles to the north is the old town of Totnes on the River Dart, with Dartmoor just beyond.
