Visit Bamburgh Castle, with its much photographed romantic beach or Alnwick, 12 miles, with its famous castle used in the Harry Potter films and enchanting water gardens. Take a trip across the causeway (at low tide) to Holy Island, a few miles further up the rugged and unspoilt coastline. Shops, restaurants and pubs 200 yards.
