About this property

Make your way through private electric gates, surrounded by open countryside and idyllic landscapes at Clock Cottage, a gorgeous abode found on the owner's grounds, perfect for a family of four to rest their heads, or potentially five if making use of the additional pull out bed. Make your way down several stone steps to the entrance patio, benefiting from seating and a chimenea, with a wrap around pathway to a private garden boasting AstroTurf and a luxurious hot tub for relaxing evenings. Step into the open-plan living area and onto the flagstone flooring with sumptuous underfloor heating, equipped with a fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and oven with hob. Rustle up a delicious meal and set the table for an intimate dinner over your home-cooking, before relaxing on the plush sofa for a film night. The ground floor is also home to a handy cloakroom, and accompanied by a tremendous character feature which can be seen from the outside - the unique circular stone window was originally from the clock face of the village church, giving the cottage it's name. Retreat upstairs to one of two stunning bedrooms, comprising a master king-size with its very own lavish freestanding bath, or a twin room which can be made into a king-size if needed, benefiting from its very own terraced balcony with seating, a perfect spot to enjoy a quiet glass of wine looking out to exceptional views. Prepare for a day ahead in the sleek shower room, waking up with a refreshing soak in the large walk-in shower before being welcomed by a toasty towel from the heated rail. Stroll over to the welcoming village pub, The White Hart Inn, and enjoy a refreshing pint accompanied by some hearty pub grub before heading out for a walk next to scenes of serene landscapes as the sun sets at the end of far-reaching greenery. Enjoy a canal side walk and visit the cafes, pubs and award winning ice cream parlour in picturesque Uppermill, and stock up on essentials for your self-catered stay at one of the stores in the local surrounding villages at Grotton, Greenfield, Mossley or Lees to name a few. Break away for a day of adventure at one of the nearby attractions on the way to the stunning Peak District National Park, taking a challenging hike up Tandle Hill View Point or over to Holmfirth for a peaceful walk along Kirklees Way. Alternatively, enjoy a wander along the Peak Hidden Trails, offering a range of guided walks among woodland, rugged hills and moorlands, whilst ramblers can tackle a steep ascent up Bleaklow. Clean, cosy, everything you could want for a few days away. Didn’t want to leave, already looking at dates to return. Host had gone the extra mile to make you feel welcome on arrival - thank you so much.

Was ideal for our weekend. Hot tub was an amazing extra.

The cottage had everything we needed and we would definitely go back. Only but of advice would be to install a roof over the hot tub for when it’s raining! We ended up sitting in it in our wooly hats so our hair didn’t get wet when it was raining.
